Adoptable Dogs and Puppies

Why I have placed so many Cresteds in good, loving homes:

     Because I have been showing my Cresteds for several years, I have gotten to know quite a few quality Crested breeders. Breeders of show quality Cresteds are primarily breeding these dogs to improve the breed and to create their next show dog for the show ring. They are not in it for the money. In fact, a good breeder rarely makes money breeding these dogs. If they do all of the health checks necessary to be a quality breeder, it is hard to charge enough to make money on their dogs that they may sell. And many times they hold onto a puppy for up to 4-5 months, to evaluate the pup as it grows to see if it is their next show quality puppy. Sometimes at 4-5 months of age, the bite “goes off”, (this means the teeth are not aligned properly for this breed), and therefore it cannot be a show dog. Or sometimes the ears don’t stand up in the proper position. It often takes months to determine if some tiny problem like this will deter the dog from being worthy of the show ring. These tiny problems will cause a show dog hopeful, to become a pet quality dog. There is NOTHING wrong with a pet quality dog. My Jo Jo, (the Pucas), is a pet quality dog, and I LOVE him dearly. But his fur was too curly and his body shape is not long enough. These alterations certainly don’t make him any less loveable, in fact most people who know him, say they want a “Jo Jo” for themselves.

    Because I am a veterinarian, I have access to a large client base of good pet owners. I have made it my goal to help these breeders find good, loving, forever homes for these dogs who are pet quality. And it has been quite easy to do so. Most people, (in fact, all but one), have asked for another after they acquired their first Crested from me. And now the client who has only one Crested, has told me she now wants another as a playmate for her first Crested. So, if you want a small, quiet, gentle, non-shedding loveable pet don’t hesitate to look over these lovely Cresteds in this section.
